![]() But this sort of arrangement does make it easier to hold onto the tablet since the keyboard folds in such a way that you have a few extra centimeters of material to grip onto. It doesn’t look great and it really sticks out when you have the Type Cover flipped around the back of the device. I’m not a fan of how the Surface Slim Pen’s storage space ends up enlarging the magnetic flap at the top of the keyboard. It does take some getting used to, and at first all it reminded me of was one of those thin pens I used as a kid once. Despite being smaller and thinner than the previous Surface Pens, this new digital inking device feels just as accurate. But what is new is the Type Cover has a little slot milled into it to fit the new Surface Slim Pen. ![]() The layout of the keyboard and even the dimensions of the touchpad are the same. ![]() Externally, the new Surface Pro X also features a new type of keyboard-well, sort of new. Sadly, the Internet speed at Microsoft’s hands on event wasn’t fast enough to stream any 4K content, so that will have to be something we test at a later date. I was also able to easily pop open 10 tabs to various IGN news articles, review, guides, and video. I didn’t encounter any of the lag I’ve experienced from ARM-powered devices in the past. ![]() Although there’s still plenty of mystery surrounding the Surface Pro X’s Microsoft SQ1 the device felt plenty peppy. Comparatively, the regular Surface Pro series has featured a 12.3-inch display with a 2,736 x 1,824 screen resolution going as far back as the Surface Pro 5. Another thing the Surface Pro X has going for it is its larger 13-inch screen that fills most of the front of the device with a 2,880 x 1,920 picture. However, the Pro X’s slimmer profile and curved edges definitely feel more pleasing to hold in your hands thanks to the Pro 7's sharp angles. 20 Images Surprisingly, though, the Surface Pro X isn’t any lighter than the also newly introduced Surface Pro 7, both devices weigh in at the same 1.7 pounds. ![]()
